April 3, 2009 -- IGR is looking for 20 - 30 students to volunteer as CommonGround Workshop facilitators for next fall. Incoming Workshop Facilitators are expected to attend a 2-day training retreat in September, facilitate 2-3 workshops per month, and attend monthly meetings. Though this is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity, CommonGround Workshop Facilitators have a history of a sustained commitment to facilitating and being a part of the social justice community on campus. Laura Blake Jones named Associate Vice President and Dean of Students

Vice President for Student Affairs E. Royster Harper has named Laura Blake Jones as associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students. Pending regental approval of the appointment, Blake Jones will assume the position July 13, 2009.

U-M DPS SECURITY BULLETIN - Thefts from vehicles on North Campus

The U-M Department of Public Safety is alerting students, staff, faculty and residents of North Campus that several thefts from vehicles recently have been reported. In all cases, global positioning system (GPS) and other small electronic devices had been left in view, side windows were smashed and the belongings removed.

Expansion of the Zipcar car-sharing program

February 2009 Students, faculty and staff often send correspondence, invitations and publications to the offices of federal, state and local elected officials as a means of keeping these officials informed of issues, activities and events on campus. With every election, there are changes to who holds public office. The Office of the Vice President for Government Relations (OVPGR) can help you stay up-to-date with these changes so that correspondence is addressed appropriately to current officeholders. Whenever possible, it is preferred to avoid sending information from the University to individuals who no longer hold elected office.
