| Mission: | ABENG is East Quad's Multicultural council at the University of Michigan. Our purpose is to promote awareness, tolerance, and acceptance of diversity in all its forms including all cultures, religions, sexual attractions, gender expression and other social identities. Diversity shall not only be discussed but practically applied in order to benefit all those who reside foremost in East Quad and the University as a broader community. ABENG shall be safe, open, and caring environment where students can feel free to express their ideas and beliefs without fear. Our hope is that we see both the positive and unique differences inherent in diversity and that we also realize how similar as human beings we really are. Thus, progress is essential in uniting us as a community that cherishes one another for who we are as individuals and what we can do for each other as part of a great society. We insist that those so welcome so act. |
