Dalliance Dance Crew Constitution
Preamble
Founded at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, Dalliance is an all female dance group composed of young
women who love to express themselves through dance. Hence the name Dalliance. Defined as a brief love
affair, this name was chosen because these ladies not only love to dance, but dance as if they are in love
with dance. This dance crew embraces all types of dance including Jazz and Modern, but prides itself on their
feminine Hip Hop style.
Article I. Name
Dalliance Dance Crew is the title to be used in addressing this organization.
Article II. Purpose
This dance crew embraces all types of dance including Jazz and Modern, but prides itself on their feminine Hip
Hop style.
Article III. Membership
Section 1.

Anyone is eligible for membership, there are no membership restrictions.
Section 2.

In order to become a member one must audition for the group. Active members are identified by attending
75% of practices and performances.
Section 3.

You may voluntarily withdraw from the group; however, unless otherwise specified previous to withdrawal,
such members will not be reimbursed or compensated for time spent for or money paid to (for example:
costumes) Dalliance Dance Crew.
Article IV. Officers
Section 1.

The officers will consist of 3 members; the director and the co-director and the manager. The manager will
handle the business aspect of the organization including but not limited to finances and performance requests.
The two directors share equal responsible in duties for the organization including scheduling and choreography.
Section 2.

The officers will not constitue an executive committee.
Section 3.

There is no advisor.
Article V. Operations
Section 1.

All members are eligible for a director position.
Section 2.

Officers are elected by the previous directors and/or founders of Dalliance Dance Crew.
Section 3.

The officers will assume their positions at the beginning of the fall semester.

Article VI. Finances
Section 1.

Dalliance Dance Crew will finance its activities through donations and fundraisers.
Section 2.

The two directors as well as the manager are responsible for the organizations finances.
Article VII. Amendments
Section 1.

Amendments can be proposed at any Dalliance Dance Crew rehearsal.
Section 2.

Any member can propose an amendment.
Section 3.

There is no time limit for amendment proposing and voting. Members will vote on amendments, and the
proposal has to have a vote of more than half to be successful.
Article VIII. Registration Renewal
Section 1.

The directors are responsible for renewing organization registration immediately following elections, or at the
opening of the registration date if renewal isn't available at the time of elections.
Article IX. Removal of Membership
Section 1.

Directors will be removed only under the circumstance that they are failing to successfully complete their
duties.
Section 2.

The process for removing officers will include voting by the members, having the final decision lie with the
founders of the group.
Section 3.

Members shall be removed from the organization if they are failing to attend practices, not showing
improvement in choreography, or are having conflict with the crew.
Section 4.

The directors will be responsible for the removal of organization members.
