The Pink Rose Dance Company Constitution

Preamble

The Pink Rose Dance Company is dedicated to expression of self through dance and service to the community through community service projects. As members of the dance community, we strive to be positive members of this community and effective leaders of tomorrow.

Article I. Name

The Pink Rose Dance Company

Article II. Purpose

The purpose of this organization is to serve, entertain and learn cooperatively and effectively.

Article III. Membership

Section 1.

Any University of Michigan Student is eligible for membership and there are no restrictions.

Section 2.

One becomes a member by being chosen by the President.

Section 3.

If a person chooses to exit themselves from the dance team, they have the right to but must turn over all Pink Rose products.

Article IV. Officers

Section 1.

There is a president and a publicist. The president oversees the practices and all other events or funds used. The publicist is in charge of all advertising aspects.

Section 2.

Yes they will constitute an executive committee.

Section 3.

There is no advisor at this time but if one was present they would serve as the executive person in control of all the activities of the group.

Article V. Operations

Section 1.

Any member that the president designates.

Section 2.

There are no elections for officers because the founding member will designate all positions.

Section 3.

Officers assume their positions year round.

Section 4.

Article VI. Finances

Section 1.

Finances will come through a sponsor and dues paid by each member.

Section 2.

The president is repsonsible for all funds.

Article VII. Amendments

Section 1.

Amendments can be proposed by any member at a practice.

Article VIII. Registration Renewal

Section 1.

The organization will renew on August 8th of each year.

Article IX. Removal of Membership

Section 1.

If the member does not attend practices or does not pay dues they will be removed.

Section 2.

The process for removing officers is the decision of the organization President.

Section 3.

No members will be subject to removal.

Section 4.

The removal of members is voluntary.

Article X. By-Laws

A committee will arise only if needed such as a fundraising committee or performance committee.
