Apostolic One Constitution
Preamble
PREAMBLE
ApostolicOne is here to offer support and encouragement to students who are away from their home churches, as well as provide them with a community of friends. Through ApostolicOne, you can be involved in worship, Bible studies, evangelism, conferences, and fellowship. If you are committed to developing a closer relationship with the Jesus Christ and sharing this great gospel on campus and around the world, we would love for you to join us.
ApostolicOne is comprised of students, faculty and staff studying or working at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University.
Article I. Name
ARTICLE I. NAME
Section 1. This organization shall be known as ApostolicOne.
Article II. Purpose
ARTICLE II. PURPOSE
Section 1. The objectives of this organization shall be to strengthen fellowship among Apostolic students; to develop Christian relationships with other students; to maintain community unity through the association of the members in a social way; and to combine the resources and efforts of the members of the organization through bible studies, prayer meetings, worship services and fellowship. ApostolicOne shall meet regularly during the school semester on locations both on and off campus.
Article III. Membership

ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Any University of Michigan student, staff or faculty member is eligible to become a member of ApostolicOne. No more than 50% of membership shall consist of staff or faculty members.
Section 2.

Section 2. Membership is obtained by coming to a meeting and indicating interest in becoming a member. New members will be asked to complete a Membership Card.

Section 3. To voluntarily withdraw membership from ApostolicOne, a request must be submitted in writing to any Executive Board Member.
Article IV. Officers
Section 1.

ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS
Section 1. The officers of the organization shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Chaplin.

Section 2. The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Chaplin constitute the Executive Board.

Section 3. The advisor will assist the officers of the organization as requested.

Section 2. Election of officers will occur during the first regularly scheduled meeting in April. Duties of officers are detailed in Article X. Bylaws.

Section 1. ApostolicOne will finance activities with donations, fundraisers and possibly by collecting dues.

Article VII. Amendments

Section 1. Amendments shall be proposed at regularly scheduled meetings.

Section 3. Two weeks after an amendment is proposed a vote shall take place at the next regularly scheduled meeting. The Amendments of this Constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the current members. Voting shall be by a show of hands. A quorum will constitute 2/3 of the current membership.

Section 1. Registration renewal will take place during the first week of the Fall Semester, or within two weeks after the registration renewal process officially begins.

ARTICLE IX. REMOVAL OF MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Officers shall be removed for failure to comply with rules and regulations, for being convicted of a criminal offense, upon graduation from the University of Michigan or upon leaving employment at the University of Michigan.

Article X. By-Laws
- ARTICLE X. BY-LAWS (DUTIES OF EXECUTIVE BOARD, OFFICERS AND APPOINTEES)
Section 1. It shall be the duty of the Executive Board (See Article IV: Officers, Section 2) to represent the organization at all meetings, to determine the order of business and approve any programs held on or off the University of Michigan campus, to fill official vacancies, and to perform such other work as delegating assignments to members of the organization.
Section 2. It shall be the duty of the members on the Executive Board to carry out the policies of the organization by developing and administering specific programs. Members on the Executive Board will assist and counsel the President on all matters pertaining to the activities of the organization.
Section 3. The Executive Board shall set up committees and make special assignments as necessary in administering the programs of the organization. Committee appointments and special assignments may be temporary or permanent, but such appointments or assignments shall be considered valid at the time new elections of officers are held.
Section 4 PRESIDENT: It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings of the organization, to preside at all meetings of the Executive Board, and to exercise general supervision over the organization. It shall be the duty of the President to call special meetings of the Executive Board as necessary for the purpose of carrying on the work of the organization during the period between meetings.
Section 5. VICE PRESIDENT: It shall be the duty of the Vice President to assist and counsel with the President on all matters pertaining to the activities of the organization. It shall be the duty of the Vice President to act in the behalf of the President in his/her absence. The Vice President will assist in reserving rooms and coordinating any programs related to the organization.
Section 6. SECRETARY: It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep accurate minutes of the proceedings of all meetings of the organization and of the Executive Board, and will perform other such secretarial duties as the President or Executive Board direct.
Section 7. TREASURER: It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to maintain the financial accounts of the organization, including the collection of membership dues and an accounting of all disbursements made by, or in the name of, the ApostolicOne organization. The Treasurer will present a financial report at all meetings.
Section 8. CHAPLIN: It shall be the duty of the Chaplain to open and close each meeting with prayer and to help the organization maintain a healthy spiritual balance. The Chaplain shall also recommend one community service project for the organization to participate in each year.
Section 9. WEBMASTER: It shall be the duty of the Webmaster to maintain the ApostolicOne Website. All content of the website must comply with the policies of the University of Michigan, and are subject to the approval of the Executive Board. Assistants may be selected as necessary, subject to the approval of the Executive Board.
Section 10. It is understood and agreed that these bylaws drive the association called ApostolicOne.
Section 11. The annual dues per member of the organization shall be determined by the membership. Dues shall be payable at the time of initial membership in the organization.
