Welcome to the UM*Events Online Events Calendar! Use this site to browse and search for events happening throughout campus. The calendar system is comprised of campus events that are sponsored by MSA-registered student organizations and University departments. If you belong to a University department or an MSA-registered student organization, you can add events to the calendar. Hopefully you will find this site to be another one of the useful resources provided by the Campus Information Centers.
The site is maintained and provided by the Campus Information Centers and Technology Services, part of the Division of Student Affairs. An 
RSS feed is available under the specified
terms of use.
Submitting Events
In order to submit events into the calendar, your Uniqname must be affiliated with an authorized sponsor account. If you belong to a department or student organization and your group already has a sponsor account, ask the account owner to add your Uniqname to the member list. If your organization or department is new to UM*Events, you must signup using our Sponsor application form.
Note: Authorization requests are responded to normally within 24 - 48 hours. You will receive confirmation via email.
Requirements for becoming an Authorized Sponsor on UM*Events
You and your organization must have a direct, current relationship with the University of Michigan.
This constitutes one of the following conditions being met:
- Current enrollment at the University of Michigan
- You are currently staff or faculty at the University of Michigan
- You are the contact representative for a student organization at UM currently registered with the Michigan Student Assembly (MSA).
All applications to become authorized for submitting events are subject to approval by Campus Information Centers staff.
Browser Requirements
In order to use this site with all of its features, you must be using any of the following browsers (or anything compatible with these browsers):
- Mozilla Firefox v1.5 or higher
- Apple Safari v1.2 or higher
- Mozilla v1.7 or higher
- Mozilla Camino v1.0 or higher
- Microsoft Internet Explorer v6.0.2
- Netscape Browser 8.1
Javascript and Cookies must also be enabled.
What's Under The Hood?
Occasionally people ask Technology Services if they can use our "software". UM*Events isn't actually software, it's just an XHTML website running on ColdFusion MX7. Some of the visual effects are run using Javascript, namely the Moo.fx lightweight effects library. Technology Services does not distribute the source code of this website. However, if your University of Michigan department would like use the calendar system, we do collaborate with non-Student Affairs units. At this time, UM*Events receives data from the School of Music, Theatre & Dance. We also export event data to Arts at Michigan. If your department is interested in collaboration, contact Technology Services at techservices@umich.edu or call us at 734 647-0271 (Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm).
